Artist's Comments

A digital painting from Photoshop. I started with a pencil sketch and painted over it and such. This is Amaterasu, the Japanese sun goddess. This was done for CHOW on conceptart.org. Took me about three days of toil to finish it.

I like her face the most, I've made a cropping of it and put it in my scraps if anyone cares to look closer. Here's the link:

She is absolutely gorgeous! I love the coloring and her hair and the sense of flow in her garments. The magic in her hands is also beautifully rendered; I'd ask how you did it but I hate to pry into other artists' secret skills. :)

To be quite honest, I scribbled the flamey magic onto one of the layers with a soft round and it just worked..so I scribbled onto another layer in brighter colors. Not a work of genious...just coincidence. Thanks for the compliment and the fav, by the way!

Wow, and to think you hated the digital stuff to start out with. You've gotten awesome at it! This totally reminds me of Mulan artwork, only better!
